| The results are in! Surveys were sent to those who attended STO 2011 and the answers have been posted. STO 2012 is already taking shape, with some suggestions from the survey being incorporated into the new agenda. Visit the forum www.scoottheozarks.proboards.com to check out the survey results and the evolving agenda.
Add your suggestions and volunteer to help with organizing a great rally. I have found that being involved with the planning and helping with the activities at the rally are part of the fun of Scooting the Ozarks. Planning and preparation for activities are done well in advance so that during the rally volunteers are free most of the time to just have fun. |

| Happy New Year! Registration for STO 2012 is now open. Get that new calendar out and add the Scooting the Ozarks Rally to your plans for 2012. STO welcomes all scooter riders, and is a “riders rally”, so you can expect opportunities to ride in the Ozark twisties each day of the rally. |

| When gary and I went about 2 years ago, we were easily the youngest people there (average age of scooterist 50-65). We were a bit dissapointed with the rally. Lots of maxi-scoots (250cc and up) and alot of triked out scoots. We were also disappointed that they allowed LARGE motorcycles like Honda Goldwings to particpate. There was even a guy who had taken a Chevy van engine and mounted it on the three wheel motocyle frame who they allowed to ride in the group rides. Most events ended by 5:00pm and registration fee did not include alot of the meals.
There are some very pretty roads down there, but traffic on those two lane roads sometime equal that found on 4 lane interstates. Be aware that roads around Eureka Springs are very heavily traveled by semi tractor trailer traffic. This can be very frightening to someone on a scooter.
I am not trying to discourage anyone from going, I am just meerely sharing my experience as a former participant in this rally.
However, I heard that they were trying to correct some of the errors from the past and make the rally more enjoyable for all.

| I'm new to the rally scene and so I ALWAYS appreciate info on past experiences. So thanks for that, John. It's good to go in with eyes wide open. That said, I might be interested in attending this rally, too, with others from our group. But I'm like Don, that's quite a ways off. I'll think about that tomorrow. Scarlet said. |

| ScooterJohn, I'm sorry you were not happy at STO when you went. From your descriptions, I think you must have attended the first one. The rides are better organized now, with a limit of 10 bikes to a group, and efforts are made to match the people with a group with a similar riding style/speed.
Take advantage of STO’s “early bird registration” and mail yours before March 1, when registration goes up $10. Your fees cover 4 days of riding the curvey roads of the Ozarks, dessert welcome, 2 meals (pizza night, and barbecue), show and shine, and more.
Also reserve your room early while you still have a choice of room type. There will be a MAJOR Razorback football game on Saturday, Sept. 15 so rooms may be hard to find for Friday and Saturday if you don’t make a reservation early. You must reserve by phone and mention STO to get the special room rates at the host hotel. |

| It had not dawned on me until today.....but this rally is being held during the work week! Wednesday thru Saturday, wow! I have not seen many rallies take place during weekdays when most people have to work. I would have to take off a whole week just to go! Guess it works for the retired! |
