I'm getting ready to take Pinkie in for her 4000 mile checkup plus a new rear tire because it's showing wear. The front tire still looks "ok."

Does anybody just go ahead and replace both tires while they're at it, even though there may be some good miles left in the front one? I'm debating whether to get both replaced for an added level of security.

Katie:

My rule of thumb (and I can't take credit for it) is that you change the front tire every other time you change the rear. The rear wears twice as fast (or so they say).

Always seek advice from someone you trust that works on your scoot. If it's scooter world, they're not in the business to just sell you something you don't need.

The only reason I would change a tire that looks ok, is if it's cupped badly. Still, if the thought of not changing an ok looking tire gives you pause, there's no shame in being too careful.

Hope it helps...

Like Don said. When I had the tires changed recently on the GT, it was only on the rear tire. I'll wait for next time to get both changed out.

Thanks, guys. Pinkie's having a spa day on Saturday. She's getting her 4000-mile service and a new back tire. They'll check out the front to be sure it's still okay.
